That is me inside the helmet and breathing nicely. I
don't think I will ever forget this experience. It was
such an amazing fish, and we seemed to have a real
connection. |

"I just
recently
came across
a note I had
written a
year or so
ago. I
was
questioning
whether I
really knew
who I was.
In
meditation,
I raised the
question and
got this
answer...
I AM:
I AM"! |

In the spring
of '33 in rural
North Carolina,
on a tobacco
farm, I came
into the
world as the
tenth child of
my parents.
Two children had
already
deceased; and
two more
followed.
We were wealthy
in love and
food, poor in
material goods.
High
spirited,
competitive,
friendly, and
smart enough,
I survived!!
School was fun;
in high
school, I
majored in boys
and basketball,
minored in
books!!
(regretted this
when I entered
the university
many years
later). Went to
business school;
worked as
secretary the
next six years.
Lost both
parents within
four months;
after which I
moved to the
Capital; was
employed by the
State Board of
Education where
I worked the
next twenty-four
years.
During this
time, I
completed my
undergraduate
degree and my
Masters Degree
in Education;
(got my
doctorate in
alcoholism at
the same time.)
I went into
treatment for
alcoholism;
(celebrating 23
years
sobriety!!) in
January '83.
Retired in 1985
and moved to
Jensen Beach,
Florida to begin
a new career
with Heritage,
treating
alcoholics and
drug addicts.
My codependency,
adult child, and
abuse issues led
me to attend the
first eight-day
program in the
nation; ONSITE
in Rapid City,
South
Dakota; directed
by Dr. Joe, and
Sharon-Weigschieder
Cruse. In my
aftercare
planning, they
told me "they
felt I had a
God-Given Gift"
to work in this
field;
encouraged me
to participate
in a SIX-MONTH
LONG INTENSIVE
TRAINING
INTERNSHIP
PROGRAM
conducted by the
Family
Program at the
Caron
Foundation. Am
thankful I did
this.
January 1987, was
the beginning of
Adventures in
Recovery. The
program was licensed
and I found that
people were looking
for a way to heal
the emotional pain
they had carried
many years.
Word spread quickly
and the people came.
It was highly
successful as
measured by the
positive changes
people made in their
lives,
I have continued
to work, to
learn, and to
follow divine
guidance;
working a strong
recovery
program. In
1997, I enrolled
in coursework
with The
Alliance of
Divine Love, and
was Ordained as
a Minister,
Chapel #960, in
August.
This enables me
to do Spiritual
(not Religious)
work with
clients. I had
realized for
years that
people who had
an inner
strength tended
to work through
core issues and
made life-long
positive changes
in their lives.
Several years
ago, I was
working with a
professional
whose abuse
issues came up.
I began a
week-long
session, working
12-14 hours per
day, keeping
focus on core
issues and
working the
healing
process. I was
amazed at the
amount of work
that was done
and the results
were fantastic.
This led to the
current program
of Intensive
one-on-one
therapy.
As I have
expressed many
times; "I
RETIRED FROM A
GOOD CAREER, AND
FOUND MY
CALLING." After
all these years,
I enjoy my work
every day and
feel thankful
for the
opportunity of
serving.

"...I have learned that emotions
are universal! The
problems which tend to keep us
from having the desired quality
of life changes very little
regardless of language and
geography. Our feelings
are the same; our spiritual
direction will cross every
barrier necessary in order to
facilitate life changing
work..." |
